DETAILS
The project consists of 20 buildings which are designed to achieve a very good BREEAM rating which includes an Innovation building which can contain meeting rooms, exhibition centre, commercial kitchen/canteen etc... The two story building uses biomass heating combined with a Passivent air system to operate 90% of the time and air-conditioning to be utilised on peak summer days.
The remaining 19 buildings can be utilised as Commercial offices or Retail Outlets which are located within the business park.
The mechanical and electrical services are a central item to the project as the schemes used are to showcase low energy and passive technology within new buildings.
The services also include high end energy monitoring and the use of renewable fuels such as biomass. The inexchange building uses grey water as a dedicated source of water to be used in the toilets within the scheme.
